My dear Zurich-based friend Jan Henrik Hansen is currently materialising a number of musical pieces or parts of them, including melodies, rhythms or even single sounds/chords for an exhibition in 2010. Above find a polyuretane sculpture translated from a bassline of five modulated notes. Music known to the author. Size 1.8 m in length. Henriks sculptures are translated from various musical pieces with custom tools invented and patented some years ago.

Denmark is cool, Danish bikes are cooler. VIVA Bikes has a awesome selection of stylish bikes, my favourite is the Bellissimo 1 Speed, but for a easy going ride I would definitely choose the pictured Viva Velo. Check out their helmets, too.

For today two funny finds from unknown photographers. The left one is a 1976 cover from Lui magazine, found in a worth seeing 70s gallery at Süddeutsche Zeitung Magazin. The right one is the cover from the 1977 book "Complete Guide To Skateboarding", found at vintageskateboardmagazines.com.

Boombox Photography

Braun flickr set

Marvellous flickr set of Braun products. Flickr-member photonium collected these objects from flea markets, the b&w pictures are taken in the munich design museum. The design of Braun products, most of them created by Dieter Rams who worked as product designer for Braun from 1955 until his retirement in 1998, has influenced several generations of designers.
The iPhone's calculator app is an obvious tribute to the 1977 Braun ET44 and ET66 calculators.

TCHO chocolate

TCHO is a new chocolate company from San Francisco with a focus on "obsessively good dark chocolate" and a Fair Trade background, founded by the experienced chocolatier Timothy Childs and the co-founder of Wired magazine, Louis Rossetto.
The Corporate Design was created by Susanna Dulkinys, Partner at Edenspiekermann in Berlin.

Tilt-Shift-Maker

"Tilt-shift photography refers to the use of camera movements on small- and medium format cameras. Miniature faking is a post-processing technique, which involves selectively blurring a photo to simulate the narrow depth of field found in macro photography and some tilt-shift photography, making the image appear to be of a miniature model." The Saab 99 Combi Coupé or Wagonback as it was initially referred to in the U.S. arrived in 1974. The car was designed by Bjorn Enväl and was produced in Uusikaupunki, Finland as well as Trollhättan, Sweden.
